Alle Farbtafeln sind handschriftl. beschrieben (z.B. Altpersischer Teppich, Bosnien; Persischer Teppich, Ziegler & Co, London; Altpersischer Teppich, Fürst Schwarzenberg; Altpersischer Teppich, Musée des Arts Decoratif, Paris, etc.) sowie mit der handschriftl. Anmerkung „Probedruck“ versehen. Die Tafeln wurde nachträglich in das Werk „Teppich-Erzeugung im Orient“ eingebunden und zeigen manche Teppiche vollständig, manche nur ausschnittweise. – The 20 coloured plates in the attachments are probably draft prints for the 101 plates of the two-volume opus „Orientalische Teppiche“ published in 1892 by the Österreichisches Handelsmuseum, which is based on a famous exhibition of 429 oriental carpets in the Handelsmuseum in 1891. All of the 20 coloured plates have handwritten labellings (f.e. Altpersischer Teppich, Bosnien; Persischer Teppich, Ziegler & Co, London; Altpersischer Teppich, Fürst Schwarzenberg; Altpersischer Teppich, Musée des Arts Decoratif, Paris, etc.) as well as the hand-written notation „Probedruck“ (test print) and have been bound into the work „Teppich-Erzeugung im Orient“ later on by the museum. „Teppich-Erzeugung im Orient“ does not include these coloured plates in its normal print. The plates depict some of the carpets wholly, some only details. – The K.K. Österreichisches Handelsmuseum, the former Orientalisches Museum, has been founded in 1875, influenced by orientalist Arthur von Scala, and had its focus on Asian cultures, especially East Asia, in order to gain economical advantages out of the trade and collection of art objects. It was integrated into the Museum für Kunst und Industrie (today Museum für angewandte Kunst [MAK])
